Fireworks, and friends

Went for the fireworks festival yesterday. Kinda deja vu as had also went to Marina South last saturday, though the main part was for dinner and this time was for fireworks.
Crowded as usual, squeeze in the bus, place packed with people. Arrived in the midst of explosion going around(some military equipments display), choppers flying around, jeeps and APCs raging onto the field. The familiar smell of carbon, muddy fields....etc....... reminds me I'm going back for reservist next feb. That's not a good topic to touch now.
After the show, we walk to the best place to catch the fireworks, just right across the 'river'. Reached there very earlier, about 1 hour before the show. 'Booked' our seats, and started chatting away, and testing our cameras. Soon the sky got dark, Peipei also joined in(always glad that this group of friends make the effort to meet) after her long day.
Minutes past 8, the fireworks were up and away. Great view, no one blocking, slight wind blowing from the front. The music was quite soft, mainly coz we weren't sitting at the grandstand where they're blasting the music, and where we were were jus a few small soundbox quite far away. Just immensed in the fireworks, though it probably wasn't as good as the one last year(I think). Maybe the impact of the music was better last time.
Show ended in abt 15 minutes. I had recorded 14:41 mm/ss of footage. Did it in low quality as memory card only 128mb. Using high quality would only record about 6 minutes, which is very short compared to the whole show of 15 minutes. Gave up quality for quantity, no choice. Video looks grainy from the camera screen, haven't seen on pc yet, hope will be much better.
After a while, headed for Cityhall to meet Huisze. Was a long ride out, as there are people everywhere. Squeeze here and there, finally got onto the train and to Cityhall.
Decided to settle at Starbucks. Sat down, chit chat, take video, sipping our drinks, munching the special 'birthday' walnut cake. Kept a piece for Huisze. Think she was quite hungry(?), joined us and started munching away, haha. Somehow as I was watching her eat, I was thinking she's beginning to pick up some 'rural' habits. haha..... just my thinking.
Chit chat chit chat......... each of us got a friendship band from Minyin(my 1st ever one! Believe it.) Soon, it was 11pm. Getting late, everyone still have to work on monday. Soon had to part. Everyone headed in different directions. It's amazing we've know each others for 9.5 years, and amazing FATE can bring us from different walks and parts of Singapore together.
Oh ya, just past midnight, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to me! ;-)
